How To Make A Skittle’s Slushie

Halloween isn’t too far away, and it seems that every halloween, skittles is a very popular candy to hand out. So I decided to make a slushie out of skittles.

Total Time: 30 minutes 

Freeze Time: 15-20 minutes

Servings: 6 medium servings

What You Will Need:

- 2-3 cups of ice

- 7 oz skittles (any flavor of skittles will work)

- one 12.5 fl oz bottle of Jarritos© (I used the Mandarin flavor, but, again, any flavor will work)

Directions:

1. Grab a bowl and add parchment paper on top of it. Pour your skittles in. Then freeze the skittles for 15 to 30 minutes, until the skittles are less chewy and harder inside. 

2. When the skittles have been frozen, take them out of the freezer. Slide the parchment paper with the skittles on to a cutting board. Grab a mallet and smash the skittles in half. If you don’t have a mallet, skip this piece of directions. 

3. When your skittles have been smashed in half, add them into a blender. Blend until the the skittles have formed a substance that looks like kinetic sand. (If you didn’t smash the skittles before this, it may take longer to blend the skittles together.)

4. Pour a little bit (roughly 1/6) of Jarritos soda into the skittles. Blend again. Then add a little bit more of Jarritos soda, this time along with 3 or 4 ice cubes. Keep adding Jarritos and ice cubes until the Jarritos is gone and you have a slushie. 

5. Pour into a glass and serve. Drink this delicious drink, sit back, and enjoy! 😊 

Optional: If you want your skittle slushie to be a certain color, you can ‘bleach’ your skittles before freezing them by putting them in water until the dye dissolves off of the skittles. If you do this, make sure you dry the skittles before freezing them. Also, if you don’t ‘bleach’ the skittles before freezing them, you can just add color dye to the slushie when you’re blending it all together.

That is how you make a skittle’s slushie. This slushy has a very strong skittle taste to it and always turns out amazing! I totally suggest trying this out, because it’s a simple recipe, but it has a delicious result. It definitely looks and tastes like a slushie, no doubt about that! It’s definitely one of the best slushie recipes.
