How To Paint A Sunset With Clouds! (With Acrylic)
Share
Have you ever tried painting clouds/sunset clouds? It’s difficult! I’m going to show you the easiest way to paint sunset clouds.
Watch the video:
The brush I used was a medium round brush. The colors I used were white and the colors of the sunset (differs depending on what colors you used). With just a little bit of white on my brush, I started creating the cloud. I lightly rubbed the white into the canvas using a circular motion. If you feel like rubbing too hard, thin your paint a little using water. When you’r done, you should have a fluffy, white cloud. Now you’re going to rub in the sunset colors. Whatever color is below the cloud rub into the bottom of the cloud. Whatever color is above the cloud rub into the top of the cloud. Then, rub in some light yellow (if the light in the sunset is that color). This will be the highlights, so rub it in wherever there’s a bump in the cloud, or where the sun’s light can reach. After that, you’re finished! Here’s my finished picture.
(This cloud was just an example, so I only made one cloud. It looks really random in the overall picture!)
This is the simplest technique you can use. If I had worked longer on this cloud, it would be way too complex to explain how to paint it. This is more of a base that you can build on.
I hope you enjoyed reading this! I really hope that this was well explained. If not, please comment so I will get better at explaining this to you. Thank you!
