How to make Candied Pecans
Share
Welcome! In this blog, I’m going to show you how to make one of my most favorite treats: candied pecans! (A.K.A Spicy pecans, even though they aren’t spicy). This recipe is simple, fast, and delicious, of course!
Here’s my recipe:
(F.Y.I This makes 5 servings)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg white
- 2 cups pecan halves
Preheat the oven to 300˚ F and prepare a pan by adding parchment paper on top of it.
Now mix the pecans and the egg white together in a large bowl. One way to separate the egg white from the yoke (that’s if you don’t have an egg separator) is to crack to egg into the bowl and dip a cupped hand into the bowl, scooping up the yoke without breaking it. When the egg white and the pecans are mixed together, grab a small bowl and mix together the dry ingredients (the sugar, salt, chili powder, and cinnamon). When the dry ingredients are combined, pour them into the pecans and egg white and mix all of the ingredients together. Then pour the mix on to the prepared pan and slide it into the oven for 30 minutes. When the time is up, take the pecans out and let them cool. Then, peel them off and enjoy! 😊
